Crystal Spring Tower Microsite

Recruitment & Awareness Campaign

My Role:

  • Research | UX | Prototyping | Hand-off | Visual QA

We built this set of landing pages for the expanded Emergency Department and Cardiovascular Institute at Carilion Clinic with the goal of giving the recruitment and awareness campaigns a web presence. The main landing page and the Explore page are meant to showcase the new building while the Careers page contains a real-time list of job openings used to attract talent from across the country.

After a series of discovery sessions with key stakeholders we uncovered content needs and desired calls to action. Leveraging what we learned in the discovery phase, we developed user flows, wireframes, then prototypes that prioritized clear pathways to conversions to accomplish their two pronged goal of awareness and recruitment.

Another critical part of my role in this project involved the meticulous hand-off of these designs to the development team. To ensure the developers could translate my vision into reality, I created comprehensive technical documentation that included detailed specifications for everything from spacing, typography, and color palettes to interactive elements and responsive behaviors across various devices. This documentation process was essential in guiding the developers and ensuring the final coded website was an exact replica of the approved designs.

My Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation
  • UI/UX (user flows, wireframes)
  • Visual Design (Figma)
  • Prototyping (Figma)
  • Facilitating Deployment with DevOps Team
  • Visual QA and Cross Browser Testing

Key Takeaways

This was a fun project that presented several unique challenges. We needed to create a set of pages to showcase the new Tower but also serve as a place to send web traffic for the purposes of recruitment. Seeing the vision behind this project come to life step-by-step was a great experience!
